Notes from a sunset set

Track selection, transitions, and the art of reading a room as the light goes gold over the rooftop.

There’s a specific window — maybe forty minutes — when the sun is low and the room softens. The crowd isn’t peak-time yet, but they’re warming. That’s my favorite slot to play.

Reading the room

You don’t fight the hour, you ride it. Open warm and patient, let the low end breathe, and save the bigger moments for when the sky actually turns.

  1. Start melodic, mid-tempo.
  2. Layer percussion in long, telegraphed transitions.
  3. Lift the energy as the light drops.

I’ll post the full tracklist and a recording once it’s mastered. The closing track was a deep-house edit I’ve been sitting on for months — felt right to finally let it go.
